The Covington/Newton County Chamber of Commerce is offering a unique experience for residents to learn more about the fascinating people of Covington's past through a guided walking tour of the historic city cemetery.
From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday members of the chamber's tourism division will give participants a colorful look into the early lives of Covington residents.
Tickets cost $10 and $5 for children and all proceeds will benefit the Newton County History Center at the Historic Jail as well as the Newton County Miracle League project.
No tickets will be sold at the cemetery; those interested must call (770) 787-3868 to reserve their tour time. Golf carts will be available for those unable to walk the route.
