It's not even October, so we really hate to do this, but we need to talk about Christmas. For more than 60 years, the Covington Rotary has collected funds to help stuff Christmas stockings for children in the community. Some parents need some help from Santa's local helpers and the Rotary is here to help.
One of the ways that the Rotarians fund this special activity is with fundraisers like the Rotary's annual car show. Have you heard about it? It will be held this Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Covington square.
If you have a classic car that you would like to show to your neighbors or want to try to win the many prizes the Rotarians are offering, it's not too late to pre-register. The cost is only $20, and you can register on site on Sunday, but the entry fee will cost $25.
You can contact a Rotarian to get more information at (404) 787-2852.
Rotarian Lanier Simms - who also happens to be the County Commissioner from District 2 - has done a great job organizing this fun event.
The event is free, so we suggest you bring the whole family for a nostalgic look into the past. We can almost guarantee that you will leave with a smile on your face and a special skip in your step.
