We support the fact that the Georgia House voted to allow the charter school issue be placed on the November ballot. By doing so, voters will decide whether charter schools should be a viable alternative to some public schools.
This referendum now needs to be passed by the Senate.
The Republicans can not muster the majority to insure this happens so it will be up to some Democrats to use good common sense and not be bullied by school unions and school boards to vote no on this important bill.
In our opinion it is always the best thing to allow the people to vote and make their own decisions. Their votes are usually very wise and not based on political strings.
The voters of Georgia deserve to have the right to vote yes or no for this measure.
