Four years ago there was a major outcry from liberal newspaper and television stations in this country that the Bush administration was spending $42 million on his inauguration. This year’s inauguration is estimated to cost close to $150 million.
Major contributions from companies like Citibank, who just received billions in a federal bailout and have their hand out for more, are included in the above figure.
Yet, there is no similar outcry four years later.
This inauguration is certainly a historical one. It didn’t have to become a hysterical one.
