Our thoughts...Fair and balanced

Last week two young men in North Hollywood, Calif. hung an effigy of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin off their roof supposedly as a Halloween prank. This in itself was disgusting and unacceptable.

The major news media took great delight in showing the Palin effigy, but they did not demand this disgrace be taken down.

This past week two college students from the University of Kentucky hung an effigy of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama from a dorm room window. The outrage expressed by the media caused these two men to be arrested and the effigy was taken down immediately.

To hang an effigy of anyone at your home or a public place is no less than a hate crime and should not be tolerated by anyone.

For us to see our brethren in the so-called mainstream media be so filled with hate for the Republican party that they would put the principals of good journalism aside and not cry foul about the hung effigy of a woman, Sarah Palin, is both sad and unforgivable.
