Our Thoughts... Stockings stuffed with onions and love

Christmas is probably the last thing on your mind right now, so we would like to get you in the holiday spirit by talking about the Covington Rotary’s Christmas Stocking Drive, which has been the joy of many Newton County families for more than 50 years.

In order to keep this great Christmas tradition alive, the Rotarians sell a great Georgia trademark — Vidalia onions — in the spring.

The generosity of the folks in our community over the years has helped the Rotarians fund this worthwhile project.

This year a 25-pound bag is only $15. If you would like to help the Rotarians with the Christmas Stocking Fund Drive this year, ask any Rotarian to bring you a bag. If you don’t know a Rotarian, you can call our General Manager T. Pat Cavanaugh (770) 787-6397 to order a bag. He’s said that he would be glad to deliver your bag personally.
