Our thoughts... Some good news

In these dark economic times, it’s more than promising to see a local business buck the trend and take a leap of faith that the future will certainly get brighter for our community.

This week, Wendell Crowe announced that his car dealership, Covington Ford, will relocate from its current location on U.S. Highway 278 to a spacious piece of property located at 9101 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, locally known as the Covington ByPass.

The new Ford dealership will be one of the first of its kind for Ford motors, featuring the latest green technology.

We have nothing but praise for Crowe and his family for this leap of faith. Car dealerships bring much needed taxes to local governments and provide a solid base of employment.

We look forward to seeing this new dealership and we wish the Crowe family and their family of employees continued success.

The project is expected to be completed in a year’s time.

The current location of the Ford dealership will become home to a Walgreens.
