There are a few new features in today's edition of The Covington News we wanted to draw your attention to.
The first you probably saw writ large on the front page - our new Truth Squad, which fact checks statements by our elected officals and current political candidates. Today we ran two recent interviews with Ronnie Johnston and Bobby Sigman through our fact checker and have written up the results. If you haven't read it yet, go check it out.
We'll be running this again in the future. Keep your eye out for it.
There's another new thing on the front page today as well. We post an online poll each week on our website, covnews.com, and we encourage you to answer it. We're now going to take your results and analyze them more thoroughly and present our findings in an article. You can find results from our own mayor's ballot today.
If you have any ideas for polls or want to comment beyond a multiple choice answer, send a comment to news@covnews.com or find us on Facebook.
Lastly, we're also retiring some of our Opinion Page columnists and cartoonists and trying some new ones. We'll begin running some new ones next week.
In the meantime, we invite you to tell us what you would like to see on the pages of our newspaper. After all, as the community of Newton County, this is your newspaper.
