This past week the city of Covington’s new leadership was sworn in.

If there was ever a time that we have needed strong decisive leadership, it is now.

We fully support new Mayor Ronnie Johnston with his efforts to bring his new energy to our community.

We have great expectations for Mr. Johnston. We are looking forward to working with him, our Ccity Council, the representatives of the taxpaying community, the Chamber of Commerce and the Main Street group on their combined efforts to move the city of Covington and Newton County out of this economic quagmire we are currently slogging through.

Together we can accomplish what some might say is impossible:  Mmaking our community the focal point of the state of Georgia’s economic recovery.
