We thought that the management issues of the Nelson Heights Community Center had been solved last week. We commended the commissioners' actions on their decision to have the Recreation Department facilitate the center.
This facility, in our opinion, should fall under the direction and guidance of the Newton County Recreation Department - we said that last week and we maintain our position.
The rec department has a proven record of managing such facilities well.
Now it seems some egos have been bruised.
The people of the Nelson Heights Community have been waiting patiently for this facility to be in operation for several years.
We ask that the parties involved in the latest dispute to come together quickly, kiss and make up and let's get this center opened.
