General Mills, which has operated a plant in Covington for the past 23 years where at least 24 percent of the company's cereal products are produced, will build a 35-acre distribution facility that will be the largest of its kind in the United States.
The construction of this facility in Social Circle shows the confidence General Mills has in the quality of life our area enjoys and the quality of workers our area produces.
The addition of this facility, of course, is a great plus for Social Circle, and also a great plus for Covington and Newton County.
Once this new facility opens for business, the production at the Covington General Mills should logically increase, which will mean more jobs in the area and an a assurance that our area's relationship with General Mills will continue for many years to come.
