Civic service by the book

The city of Porterdale is blessed to have a civic-minded treasure, Arline Chapman.

Chapman gives of herself as a member of the city council and she has also given of herself through her work in creating a children's library for Porterdale.

The library is open on Saturdays.

This is a facility that exemplifies what a community is all about. It's a testimony to the work of volunteers and to good-hearted folks who came up with the donations of books and money to make it a reality.

It's run by volunteers, and it's open to everyone, not just Porterdale residents. All you need is to provide your name and a telephone number to check a book out.
Thanks, Arline, for your hard work.

And thanks to all the volunteers and donors for helping Arline to make her vision into a reality.

You can help, too. Volunteer by sending an e-mail to achapman@cityofporterdale.com.
