Chimney Park lights

One of the nicest parks in the area is Chimney Park, located adjacent to the county health building and behind the public library in Covington.

A dedicated group of local volunteers has spent countless hours making the park a local treasure. Among the most dedicated is David Waller, who retired in 2003 as director of wildlife resources for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. Since then, he has been a community activist in regard to parks and trails.

If you are new to our community or haven’t yet visited Chimney Park, this is the time of year to do it. On Dec. 8, the park will be beautifully lit with an enchanting display of lights.
