  Mr. Willie Frank (Boot) Goolsby Jr. was born January 15, 1953 in Covington, Georgia to the late Mrs. Hattie Mae Bennett and Mr.Willie Frank Goolsby Sr.

     He departed this life on January 2, 2016. Three brothers preceded him in death, Richard, Kenny and Tony.

    He received his education in the Newton County School System from R.L. Cousins High School. Shortly after graduation, he joined the United States Army where he received the Bronze Star. He was a wonderful person, very funny and out spoken.

    He leaves to cherish his memories; his loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Mary "Lois" Goolsby, two daughters; Rafaella Goolsby and Tammy (Hurst) Wyatt, one sister, Ms. Diane Shy Five brothers, Mr. & Mrs. Joel Tuggle, Mr. & Mrs. Nolan Tuggle, Mr. & Mrs. Dennis Goolsby, Mr. Curtis Goolsby and Mr. Scottie Goolsby, eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, a very special great grand daughter Z.Z., mother-in-law, Mrs. Margaret Hurst, brothers-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Ronnie Hurst, Mr. & Mrs. Donnie Hurst, Mr. & Mrs. Curtis Hurst and Mr. & Mrs. Lamar Hurst, sisters-in-law; Ms. Janice Hurst and Mr. & Mrs. Harold (Sandra) Cooper, a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.

Obituary: Wesley Berg

Mr. Wesley Berg, aged 67, of Newborn, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. He was born on March 6, 1958, in Atlanta. Mr. Berg grew up in Decatur and graduated from Shamrock High School. He was a dedicated Christian who had a passion for mission work and helping others, frequently traveling to disaster-stricken areas to assist those in need. Mr. Berg was a committed member of Centennial Baptist Church. As a hardworking individual, he owned and operated Berg Heating and Air.

He was predeceased by his parents, Roland and Margine Tribble, and his stepsister, Lynn Daniel. Mr. Berg is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dawn Berg; his siblings, Vincent Berg, Judy Berg, Katherine Berg, Karen Berg, and Krysten Berg; his stepbrother, Bobby Tribble, and Carol Schneider; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other family members, and many close friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2025, at Centennial Baptist Church, 5321 Brownwood Rd, Rutledge, GA 30663, with Reverend Terry Richardson and Reverend Wilburn Hill officiating.
