William Harold Lawson

Mr. William Harold Lawson Jr., 60, of Covington passed away Oct. 25, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Porterdale to William Harold Lawson Sr. and Clara Butler Lawson.

He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard and worked for 22 years as a parts salesman for Courtesy Ford. He loved his yard and enjoyed working in the yard and cooking for his family.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Covington. Mr. Lawson was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Susan Witt Lawson, sons and daughters in law Bill and Aimee Lawson, Matt and Ashley Lawson, all of Covington; and son Adam Lawson of Social Circle; grandchildren Madison, Gabe and Kelsey Lawson; sister Lee Allen Digby, niece Terri and John McCarthy and great-nephew Jake McCarthy.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow, Oct. 27 in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with Dr. Billy Wade officiating. Interment will follow at New Covington Cemetery.

Mr. Lawson's family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Chynere, Eunice, Sheryl and Fran Cooper Vanallen of Longleaf Hospice for their loving support and care during Mr. Lawson's illness and request that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Longleaf Hospice, 2712 Lawrenceville Highway, Decatur, GA 30033.
