Mr. William (Bill) Sullivan, 91, of Covington, passed away December 18, 2016. A WWII veteran of the United States Navy, Mr. Sullivan served as Radarman, Third Class, from 1943 – 1945. During his military career, he served on the USS Sheridan, the USS Wren, and the USS Custer. Sullivan was a lifelong resident of Covington, and a member of Julia A. Porter United Methodist Church in Porterdale. He loved the beach, especially taking long walks on Ormand Beach in Florida. In addition to being an avid Braves fan, Sullivan enjoyed reading the newspaper, in its entirety, every day. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Lee and Julia (Watson) Sullivan.

Sullivan is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, who will miss him dearly, Polly Crowell Sullivan. Other survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Mike Smith; son and fiancé, Mark Sullivan and Angie Williams, all of Covington; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Cryptside Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2016, 11 a.m., at the Memory Chapel Mausoleum in Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Road, in Covington.
