 Mrs. Velma Perry Wilborn was born September 17, 1918 to the late Mr. Ed Perry and Mrs. Mammie Turner Perry, born in Newton County, she was the third of five children, all her siblings preceded her in death, Theodis Perry, Sr., Eugene Perry, Fannie Lois Mitchell and Harry P. Perry.

       Velma was educated in Newton County public schools, she accepted Christ into her life at an early age and joined Union Grove United Methodist Church and served faithfully until her death.

        Velma was united in Matrimony to the late Mr. John C. Wilborn on October 29, 1939. She was gainfully employed as a nutritionist with the Newton County School System until her retirement.

         She was a lifelong member of the Turner Lake Senior Center. She enjoyed ceramics, traveling, word puzzles, cooking and gardening.

        She was a devoted wife, a loving and compassionate person and was loved by all those whose lives she touched.
      
        On Monday March 4, 2013 this faithful servant was called home to recieve her reward. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, her children, Emma, Willie and James, son-in-law, Donnie Robinson and great granddaughter, Tyseana.

        She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Mr. & Mrs. Tommy (Yvonne) Adams and Ms. Thelma Robinson, two sons, Mr. Alvin Wilborn, all of Covington, Georgia, and Mr. & Mrs. James (Rose) Wilborn, of Gainesville, Florida, thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, one son-in-law, Mr. Garry freeman, of Covington, Georgia, two brothers-in-law, Mr. Roosevelt Wilborn, of King Street, South Carolina, Mr. samuel Mitchell, of Snellville, Georgia, one sister-in-law, Mrs. mary Mathis, of Madison, Georgia, special first cousin, Mrs. Claudia Strong and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other devoted family and friends.
