Susie Myrtle Dimsdale Henderson of Oxford, passed away December 21, 2016, at the age of 96. Mrs. Henderson loved to sing, whether in church or with her family. For many years she and her family shared their vocal talents every Sunday on WGFS. Being the eldest of nine, she helped raise her younger siblings. Mrs. Henderson was known for cooking and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed working with her flowers. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jesse Dimsdale; second husband, C.F. Henderson; daughter, Elaine Hinton Heatherly; grandson, Bobby Speight; granddaughter, Cynde Hinton; parents, Troy and Maude (Bates) Johnston.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Jerry Edge, of Oxford; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Kathy Dimsdale, of Walnut Grove; grandchildren, Tessa Mann, Richie and Karen Dimsdale, Jaclyn and Justin Myers, Ali and Jason Geigerman, Andrea and Roy Bolt, Doug and Carol Speight, Ron and Renee Edge, 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Aaron, of Albertville, AL, Charlotte Lawson, Gail Marchman, both of Covington; brothers and sisters-in-law, Haskell and Cynthia Johnston, of Covington, Franklin and Diane Johnston, of Eatonton; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Henderson will be held Friday, Dec. 23, 2016, 2 p.m., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Ashley Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in Jersey Holiness Church Cemetery in Covington. Friends may visit with her family at the funeral home on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
