Shane Kenny, 34, of Rockdale County, passed away suddenly November 25, 2013. Shane was a 1997 graduate of Rockdale County High School, and lettered in both baseball and football during his high school career. His love for sports led him to coach youth baseball, in Newton and Rockdale counties, and he has influenced the lives of so many while coaching. He enjoyed watching professional and college sports, but most important to him were his children. He was a devoted husband, an exceptional father, and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Staci A. Kenny; children, Gage, Ace and Skylar Kenny; parents, Greg and Joy Kenny, of Loganville; brother and sister-in-law, Josh and Amberly Kenny, of Covington; grandparents, Bill and Martha Moulder, of Decatur; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Terry and Faye Schell, of Covington; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services for Shane will be held at 2:30 p.m. Nov.30, in the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, with Pastor Tony Brock officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5–8 p.m., Nov. 29 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shane Kenny Memorial Fund, for his children, at any Bank of North Georgia location.
