Ryan Eugene Jeffares, of Covington, died September 25, 2009, at the age of 23. Ryan was a 2004 graduate of Eastside High School and in 2007 went to work for the State of Georgia at Al Burrus Correctional Training Center in Forsyth, Georgia as a corrections officer. He was a great man who enjoyed deer hunting and spending time with his family. Ryan will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, son, grandson, brother, and friend.
Survivors include his wife, Jessica Jeffares and daughter, Kyleigh Jeffares of Covington; parents, Rodney and Trish Jeffares of Newborn, Christina and Tommy Hardy of Senoia; sisters, Kara Roberts of Newnan, Tiffany Cruse of Palmetto; brothers, Steven Hardy, Michael Hardy both of Senoia, Jeffrey Brown of Newborn, grandparents, Mike and Wanda Haygood of Mansfield; brother-in-law, Cameron Coker of Covington; mother-in-law, Kim McGuire of Covington; best friends, Katy and Dean Terrell of Covington; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, step-siblings and cousins.
Funeral services for Ryan will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 1:00 PM, at the chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, with Chaplain Jeff Alford officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, September 28, from 6 PM – 8 PM. Donations may be made in Ryan's memory to a trust through Newton Federal for his daughter Kyleigh.
