Rufus Wilson Jackson of Covington, GA died Wednesday September 14, 2011 at Newton Medical Center.  He was born on February 13, 1933 in Social Circle, GA to Maylon and Clifford Mae Swords Jackson. He was a member of the Covington Elks Club, Golden Fleece Masonic Lodge and was retired from Lithonia Lighting. He loved Nascar Racing and watching his great grandchildren play sports.

Mr. Jackson is survived by his daughgter and son-in-law Pam and Wayne Vaughn of Covington, GA; grandchildren Tonya and Donnie Coe of Covington, GA, Kristy and Tony Howard of Covington, GA, Dusty Hilton of Covington, GA; great grandchildren Dylan Coe, Dawson Coe, Chase Hilton, Hunter Hilton, Alexis Cox, and Paiton, Danielle, Alexis Howard; sister Sally Hawkins of Covington, GA; numerous special nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Lois Cagle Jackson, sons Ricky and Tim Jackson, grandson Chad Jackson, great granddaughter Gabrielle Cox, several brothers and sisters.

Services will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday September 17, 2011 in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with Rev Todd Heil officiating.  Interment will be at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
