Robert Sullivan of Covington, passed away December 15, 2015, at the age of 92. Mr. Sullivan, a Purple Heart recipient, honorably served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He recognized his family as his greatest accomplishment in life. Mr. Sullivan was a faithful member of County Line Baptist Church, in Covington, for more than 60 years. He relished time spent outdoors fishing, riding his four-wheeler, hunting and trapping. Additionally, he enjoyed raising his turkeys and chickens. Mr. Sullivan was often found crafting things with his hands. He was loved and respected by many and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Mr. Sullivan was preceded in death by his adoring wife of 66 years, Ruby Bowers Sullivan; parents, Dan Lee and Nealie Sullivan; three sisters; four brothers; and his son-in-law, Frank Richardson.

Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Sandra Richardson of Covington, Jane Hooper of Monticello, Betty Ann and Ricky McCoy of Dublin; grandchildren and their spouses, Danny Joe and Liz Richardson, Mike Richardson and Susan Shadix, Rod and Brittni Richardson, Barry and Bethany Hooper, Stephen and Angie Hooper, Mandi Harris and Mike Rank, Richard and Gloria McCoy; 15 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Helen Sullivan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Sullivan will be held Thursday, December 17, 2015, 3 p.m., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Dickie Johnson officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends can visit with Mr. Sullivan’s family, at the funeral home, Wednesday, December 16, from 5:30–8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Abbey Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 68, Social Circle, GA 30025.
