Mr. Robert Edwin "Ed" Hill, 86, of Rockmart, died Nov. 6. The son of the late Fletcher Bailey Hill and Bess Cowan Hill, he was born in Newton County in 1922. Mr. Hill was a United States Navy veteran serving in World War II. He was a master election and a member of Second Baptist Church, Rockmart. Mr. Hll was preceded in death by Roy Hill and Thomas Hill.

Surviving are wife Dorothy Campbell Hill or Rockmart; daughters mary Beth Williams of Conyers, Patricia Ann Guerrero of Coweta County; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at noon Nov. 8 in the chapel of Freeman Harris Funeral Home with the Rev. Gerald Rogers and the Rev. David Warriner officiating. Interment followed in the family lot of Southview Cemetery, Covington. Serving as pallbearers were Robert Bannister, jack Waits, Christian Williams, Chris Cox, Bubba Hill and Brent Moss. Honorary pallbearers were Ralph Meek, Robert Wheeler, L.C. Mullins, G.P. McBryde, Homer Brown, Don Tate, Doug Forsyth and Howard Weaver.
