Mr. Robert E. "Bob" Peterson, 70, husband of Linda Dunn Peterson, died Aug. 27 at his home. Born in Appleton, Wis., he was a son of Harold E. and Norma D. Killam Peterson. Mr. Peterson was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired as Operations Manager from International Paper. Mr. Peterson was a man who loved his God, family and job. He saw the good in everyone and never judged. Love is not an easy feeling to put into words. Neither is loyalty or trust or joy, but he personified all three. He loved life completely and lived it intensely.

Survivors include his wife of Sumter; daughter Jennifer Hayes (Michael) of Irmo, S.C.; granddaughters, Anna Hayes and Elizabeth Hayes; and brothers, Don Peterson (Rita) of Athens, Ala., and Rick Peterson (Elaine) of Wooster, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bethel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Cynthia Taylor officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Bethel Community Cemetery in Stone Mountain.
