Raymond Lee Mathis of Covington, passed away Jan. 30, 2014, at the age of 60. Raymond was a hard-working man who would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. He loved life, never let anything get him down, had a great sense of humor and was always making people laugh. Raymond adored his family, enjoyed spoiling his children, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and going fishing. Preceding him in death were his parents, Ellis Grover and Marie (Woodard) Mathis.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, John and Melissa Mathis of Covington; wife, Peggy Jean Mathis of Monroe; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie Ann and Brian Krilla of Jonesboro; granddaughters, Kassidy Turner, Brittany Speer; great-granddaughters, Kinsley Booth, Annsleigh Speer; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and David Kinney of Lawrenceville, Wanda and Ray Hall of Covington, Brenda Mathis, Carolyn and Jon Gilbert, all of Grayson, Jackie Williams of Loganville, Pamela and Wade Hall of Dacula, Rebecca and Lamar Wood of Snellville, Lisa Garmon of Dacula, Sandra Mobley of Lawrenceville; brothers and sister-in-law, Randall and Marsh Mathis of Conley, Johnny Mathis of Monroe; close friend, Richard Bennett; several nieces and nephews.
