Mrs. Naomi "Granny B" Rice, 73, of Oxford, passed away Dec. 22. Utmost in her life was her strong faith in God. She was sincerely devoted to and enjoyed spending time with her husband and family. Mrs. Rice was preceded in death by her father "Dewey" Howard Hendrix; mother Willie Mae (Wade) Brock, better known as "Granny Brock;" sisters Ruth Burris and Janice Tumlin; and several brothers.

Survivors include her loving husband of 38 years, L.B. Rice; daughter Angela Croy; son Jeff Lunsford all of Oxford; stepson Lewis Rice of Monticello; grandchildren Scotty Croy of Covington, Daniella Croy of Oxford, Tracy Bruce of Covington, and Valerie Rice of Monticello; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters Eva Harrison of Winder and Brenda Haney of Covington; brothers Ralph, Henry and William Brock all of Eatonton; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rice was held yesterday, Dec. 27, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, with Pastor Kenneth Hawkins officiating and interment followed in Lawnwood Memorial Park.
