Mrs. Yolanda Denise White Johnson, 49, of 8138 North Links Drive, Covington passed on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at her residence.
Her funeral service was held on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at the Grace United Methodist Church in Covington. Rev. Donna Marie Calix officiated, and was assisted by Pastor George P. Lanier and Evangelist Sandra T. Trice. Interment was in the Bennie Hill Cemetery in Social Circle.
Trice Funeral Home of Thomaston was in charge of all arrangements.
Mrs. Johnson was a 1989 Music Education graduate from the University of Georgia. She received her Master Degree form Vander Cook college of Music in Chicago and her Specialist Degree from Lincoln Memorial University of Harrowgate, Tennessee. Mrs. Johnson taught Music Education for 22 years in the Newton County School System, which includes Sharp Middle School, Clemons Middle School and Liberty Middle School.
She was survived by her husband, Dr. Stacy Johnson of Covington; her parents, Rev. Marilyn (Larry) Shields of Oxford; Alvin (Jennifer) White Jr., of Holbrooks, New York; daughter, Mallori Alexis Johnson of Covington; paternal grandmother, Irene White of Monroe; three brothers, Ronnie Fuller and Mr. Morris Brandon (Sarah) Shields both of Covington and Mr. Julius (Alexis) Shields of Conyers; aunts and uncles, Samuel T. Tanks, Marvin J. Tanks, Brenda T. (Ronald) Hewitt all of Atlanta; evangelist Sandra T. Trice of Thomaston; great-aunts and uncle, Marian Hollard and Mr. Melivn Tanks both of Atlanta and Grace Tillman of Chattanooga, Tennessee; sisters and brothers-in-law, Flossie (Raymon) Bostwick of Scotch Plains, New Jersey, Ailene (John) Brint of Lilburn, Gwendolyn (Rutherford) Wallace of Florissant, Montana, Shelia White of Grayson, Johnny (Lillie) Johnson of Arnoldsville, James Johnson, Willie (Mary) Johnson and Anderson (Patricia) Johnson all of Madison; two nieces; four nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; cousins and other relatives and friends.
