Wynelle Dobson Wyatt, 97, of Covington, went home to be with the Lord, Feb. 5, 2014. Nannie, as she was affectionately called by most, was born in Cumming, Ga., to the late H.P. and Emma (Strown) Glover, and was the oldest of eight children. She married Lonnie H. Dobson in 1935, and they had three children, Ruel, Sandra and Herb. In 1997, she moved to Covington, and joined Solid Rock Baptist Church, where she faithfully attended until this last year because she was unable to walk. Nannie loved to work in her flower garden, and would be found most spring and summer days doing just that. She could grow anything, and was amazed that God would allow her to plant such a small seed and a beautiful flower would grow. Even recently, although it was difficult for her to walk, she still wanted to play in the dirt! In the last few years, she became interested in old dolls. Even dolls that were ready to be discarded, she would clean them up, dress them in new clothes and give them a name. She spent hours combing their hair and caring for her hundreds of dolls. Nannie was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. This world has lost someone very special, but God has gained an extraordinary Angel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lonnie H. Dobson; and her second husband, Harold P. Wyatt.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Donald Smith of Covington; sons and daughters-in-law, Ruel Dobson and Debbie Green of Smyrna, Herb and Diana Dobson of Bremen; grandchildren, Rodney and Tammi Dobson, Robin and Steve Brockman, Tim and Terri Dobson, Jeff and Aundie Duckett, Wade and Joleen Duckett, Rita and Tim Dixon, Wesley and Michelle Dobson, Cindi Connell, Sandy and Allan Chapman, Rusty Perren; great-grandchildren, Melody and John Pauley, Amy Brockman, Eric Dobson, Ryan Dobson, Kayla Dobson, Ethan Dobson, Evan Dobson, Austin Duckett, Abbie Duckett, Patrick Duckett, Aaron Dixon, Allison Dixon, Adam Dixon, Abby Dobson, Molly Dobson, Candy Bell, Randy Bell, Kayla Chapman, Bethany Chapman, Trey Perren, Tyler Perren, Hunter Perren; great-great-grandchildren, Dade Pauley, Brooklyn Pauley, Joseph McCauley, Gabriella McCauley; sister, Colleen Holcomb of Sparta; brothers and sisters-in-law, RT and DJ Glover of Sun City, Ariz., Tommy and Wanda Glover of Tulsa, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 9, at Solid Rock Baptist Church, Covington, with Pastor Mike Franklin officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, in Covington, Sunday, 11 a.m.-1:45 p.m.
