Sara Helen Jordan of Covington passed away September 8, 2014, at the age of 84. Mrs. Jordan was a member of East Newton Baptist Church, where she was active in the choir, her Sunday School class and the Women’s Missionary Union.

She was a salesperson with various companies, including: Belk, Avon, Jordan’s Jean Shop and Eckerd’s. Mrs. Jordan had a caring personality and never met a stranger. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law and friend. She cherished her family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Jordan was preceded in death by a son, Larry Stanley (Stan) Jordan; and all six siblings, Joe, Will, Charles, Phil and Kenneth Griffeth, and Martha Ann (Griffeth) Garrison.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Alton H. Jordan; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Eric Morgan of Covington; grandchildren, Jeff Jordan and his wife, Amanda, Torri Morgan; great-grandchildren Chase and Taylor Jordan; sisters-in-law Hariette Griffeth, Jackie Griffeth, both of Danielsville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Charles and Linda Jordan of Commerce; and several special nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 12, 2014, 2 p.m., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Mike Hardy and Rev. Dan Fuller officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, September 11, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
