Mrs. Ruby Rae Sharp, age 78, of Covington passed away September 4, 2015.  She was born February 13, 1937 in Newborn, Georgia to the late Joe Wilson and Velma Rae Kelly Davis.  Mrs. Sharp loved her children and grandchildren very much.  She adored her husband of almost 54 years, and in his own words she should have received the Angelic Award for putting up with him all those years.   Mrs. Sharp was an avid reader and would check out as many as 20 books at a time when she would visit the library.  She worked as a bookkeeper in her brother’s business, Davis Pharmacy.  Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Joe Thomas Davis and her first husband James Harwell Jones.  Along with Dr. Homer she is survived by her children: Angela Gilmer (Fred Calalay), Frank Sharp (Linda Ljoka); her grandchildren Jessica Robinson (Jimmy), Wil Gilmer, Ana and Nik Sharp; her siblings, Wallace Lawson Davis, Kenneth Kelly Davis (Mellie Pitts Carson Davis) and her great grandson Cade Robinson.  Mrs. Sharp is also survived by her nieces, nephews, other family and close friends. 

Memorial services will be held at 6:00pm on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00pm until 6:00pm on Wednesday prior to the service.  J.C.
