Rosie Nell Russell Tanks, 90, of 228 Oak Drive Social Circle, passed on Monday, December 29, 2014 in Thomaston.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, Jan. 4 at 2:30 p.m. at the Cargle Chapel A.M.E. Church in Social Circle. Presiding Elder Dr. Earle Ifill will officiate and interment will be in Bennie Hill Cemetery.

Public Viewing of Mrs. Tanks will be held at Young Funeral Home at 3106 West Street in Covington on Saturday, Jan. 3 from 2-8 p.m. and on Sunday from 9-noon.

She is survived by six children, Mr. Samuel Tanks and Mr. Marvin Tanks, both of Atlanta. Rev. Marilyn (Larry) Shields of Oxford, Evangelist Sandra T. Trice of Thomaston, Retired Commander Wendell (Jeanie) Tanks of San Diego and Mrs. Brenda (Ronald) Hewitt of Atlanta; one grand-daughter she raised as her own, Mrs. Denise (Stacy) Johnson of Covington; eleven other grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law; one brother-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
