Mrs. Mildred Kitchens Watkins, age 94, a longtime resident of Oxford passed away September 10, 2011.  She was born March 4, 1917 in Atlanta, GA to the late Thomas Watson and Ida Mae Wiley Kitchens.  Mrs. Watkins was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening.  She was predeceased by her husband of 71 years Mr. Wilburn Watkins, her daughter, Juanita Watkins George and her granddaughter, Tina George Carter.

 

Mrs. Watkins is survived by her Daughters and Son-In-Law; Eloise Pickett of Oxford, Jane Elarbee of Covington and Deborah and Duane Watson of Bainbridge, GA.  She is also survived by her 13 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren, Sisters and Brother-In-Law; Mary and Bill Lassiter of Blairsville and Betty Fuller of Florida, a Sister-In-Law, Ann Kitchens of Cordele, GA and a host of Nieces, Nephews, other family and close friends.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Watkins will be held at 11 O’clock Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 657 Mount Zion Road, Oxford, GA 30054, with Reverend Doctor Ralph Watson, Reverend Mark George and Reverend Cecil Etheridge with interment at Lawnwood Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6pm until 8pm Tuesday, September 13, 2011.  Harwell Funeral Home and Cremation Chapel, 2157 East Street SE, Covington, GA 30014 is in charge of arrangements. www.harwellfuneralhome.com
