Marcene Phillips, 69, of Covington, passed away Feb. 24, 2014. Marcene enjoyed crocheting, traveling to the beach and the mountains, and playing golf with her husband, Dwight. She had an adventurous, outgoing and encouraging spirit, and was the glue that held her family together. Marcene cherished the time spent with her family, and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Papa Mac and Mama Mac.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Dwight Phillips; daughter, Tracey Yvonne Phillips of Covington; son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Alison Phillips of McDonough; grandchildren, Adam and Ciji Phillips, Andrew and Lauren Phillips, Alex Phillips, Tiffany Phillips, Amanda Lause, and Matt Lause; great-grandchildren, Ali, Trinity, Sophie, Luke, Aden, Mackenzie, and Alyssa; sisters, Joyce Burns and Carmen Duren; brother, Johnny McIntyre; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 27 at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd St., in Covington, with interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 26 at the funeral home.
