Mrs. Billie Kay Rawlins, age 82, of Homestead, Florida passed away November 27, 2014. She was born November 25, 1932 in Porterdale, Georgia to the late James Lonnie and Regina Marie Guthrie. Mrs. Rawlins was a strong willed woman who loved her children and grandchildren very much. A woman with a strong work ethic, she worked at Owens Illinois in Hapeville, Georgia from 1957 to 1993. Mrs. Rawlins was an avid bowler who bowled on numerous championship teams. She loved to cook and shared that passion with her friends and family. Mrs. Rawlins was full of life, she enjoyed dancing and traveling. Mrs. Rawlins was preceded in death by her husband Frank Lester Rawlins, her first husband Marvin Lester Callaway and her brothers J.L. Guthrie and Charles Guthrie.
She is survived by her children; Tim and Pat Callaway of Spring, Texas, Freda and Ken Vaughn of Key Largo, Florida, Lisa Rawlins and Rick Parks of Tallahassee, Florida and Ginger and Bob White of Crawfordville, Florida her grandchildren; Vasilios Dianellos, Timothy Rawlins, Chris Maurer, Taylor Parks and Rick Parks along with her great grandchildren; Alexis Dianellos, Piers Dianellos and Ovid Rawlins. Mrs. Rawlins is also survived by her siblings; Rudolf Guthrie of Oxford, Delores Heyliger of Florissant, Colorado, Janelle Gibbs of Oxford, June Hammond of Oxford and Phillip and Mabel Guthrie of Clarksville, Georgia along with numerous nieces and nephews along with a host of other family and close friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Rawlins will be held at 2 o’clock Friday, December 5, 2014 at Macedonia Baptist Church with Reverend Larry Cheek officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will received friends at J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home from 7:00pm until 9:00pm on Thursday, November 4, 2014. J.C.
