Betty Christian Thomas, 84, of Covington, passed away September 8, 2014. Mrs. Thomas was a faithful member of Bethany Presbyterian Church. She was very active in various church functions, and was a member of the church choir for several years. She was a longtime, dedicated employee of Steele-Jones Insurance Agency in Covington. Mrs. Thomas enjoyed spending time in her flower garden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Ralph Thomas; parents Frank Buford and Ellen Ruth (Cowan) Christian; sisters Mary Beth Steele, Jean O’Neal; and her brother, Frank E. Christian.

Survivors include her sisters-in-law Ellene Rosser of Covington, Rose Fuller of Conyers, Gladys Woodham of Dallas, Margaret Shaw of Decatur, Bonnie English of Griffin, and Evelyn Zimmerman of Virginia; brother-in-law James Thomas of Cumming; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Thomas will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2014, 4:00 p.m., at Bethany Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Daniel J. Commerford and Bob King officiating, and interment following in the church cemetery. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to Bethany Presbyterian Church, 1002 Bethany Road, Covington, GA 30016.
