Xavier Thomas McKnight, was born May 24, 1960 to the late Arthur Thomas McKnight and the late Annie Robinson. He passed away November 16, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his sister Telisa McKnight.
Xavier better known as “Getchee” was a graduate of Newton County Comprehensive High School (NCCHS). Upon graduation he joined the Army National Guard and served 13 years.
Getchee was best known for establishing “Uncle Getchee’s Ribhouse” in Covington, where he specialized in cooking his famous ribs and BBQ. He was also employed by Standrige Color Corporation in Social Circle and Bibb Manufacturing in Porterdale. In his own rite, he was a carpenter where he inspired others with his skills of building decks and etc.
He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Eleese B. McKnight, son, Xavier Thomas McKnight II and daughter, Telisa McKnight, two brothers Tony (Veronica) McKnight of Decatur and Terry (Crystal) Brooks of Covington and a host of aunts, uncles, relatives and friends. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
