Mr. Marion  Carlton (Blunk) Middlebrooks, Sr. of Covington, GA died Sunday February 21, 2010 at Retreat Nursing Home in Monticello.  He was born on May 7, 1919 in Loganville, Ga. to James T. and Althea Rutledge Middlebrooks. He was avid in CB Radio and was  known as "Salem Blue Jay", enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was member of Gum Creek Presbyterian Church. Mr. Middlebrooks is survived by his son M.C. "Buster" Middlebrooks, of Oxford, Ga; daughter Althie Chambers of Covington, Ga.; grandchildren Angela and David Holcombe, Jeff Middlebrooks, Wayne Chambers and Susie Morgan, Tim and Libby Chambers; great grandchildren Tyler Middlebrooks, Jonathan Shaw, Jacob Shaw, Nick Chambers, Michael Morgan, Melissa Morgan, Megan Glaze; brothers James and Betty Middlebrooks, Lee and Gail Middlebrooks, Billy and Janice Middlebrooks; sister Janie Hawk.. He is preceded in death by wife Geraldine Middlebrooks, father James T.  Middlebrooks, mother Althea Rutledge Middlebrooks, three brothers and one sister.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday February 24, 2010 in the Chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell  Payne officiating.  Interment will be at Haynes Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 from 4:00 - 8:00PM.
