John Thomas Tiltti, 71, of Covington passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 10, 2014. He was born in New York, New York to the late Phillip and Helvi Tiltti.

Mr. Tiltti served in the US Army and was retired from the Border Patrol where he served as an agent for 32 years. He was nicknamed “Mad Man” because of his determination to get the job done. He also worked at South River Gun Club.

Mr. Tiltti is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Dianne Tiltti of Covington; daughters Kristen Tiltti of Cornwall, New York and Amanda Tiltti of New Windsor, New York; grandsons Seth (Lisa) Tiltti of Holiday, Florida and Taylor Stovall of Cornwall, New York; and brother and sister-in-law Allan and Carol Tiltti of Bronx, New York.

A memorial gathering will be held Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014 at 7 p.m. at Wheeler Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., and have a sharing of memories at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
