Obituary
Mr. John Rogers Carr was born July 14, 1929 to the late Mr. & Mrs. Herman (Bertha Mathis) Carr. He was one of six children. He was born in Rutledge, Georgia but raised in Social Circle, Georgia.
He truly loved and enjoyed his God given talent. He was blessed to be able to enhance many homes and buildings all over Georgia, as a rock mason by trade. "DAD" loved his church family, playing cards, playing checkers, being with his family, visiting his long-time friends. "DAD" touched the lives of many people with his humble-sweet spirit. He never required much and would help anyone, as kids we remember "DAD" picking up hitchhikers off the Hwy., he would bring them back home, feed them, talk to them, find them some clothes, give them a few dollars and take them back to the Hwy. Countless stories we hear about how many people "DAD" has been a blessing to, along his life's journey.
Mr. Rogers Carr was a loving husband to Mrs. Betty Barrett Carr, who preceded him in death December 2002.
John Rogers Carr "DAD" will forever be remembered and the memories they cherished; three loving and devoted daughters, Mr. & Mrs. Roger (Shirley) Ross, Mr. & Mrs. Ralph (Alicia) Gotel and Mr. & Mrs. Rodney (Deborah) Gilbert, five sons, Mr. & Mrs. Roger L. (Rosa) Carr, Mr. & Mrs. Larry (Lurene) Carr, Mr. Jerry Carr, Mr. & Mrs. Herman (Myrna) Carr and Mr. Cedric Carr, sister-in-law, Mrs. Shirley E. Jackson, a very devoted nephew, Mr. Danny Vinning, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, countless other friends and family.
