  Mr. Henry Heard, the son of the late Mr. Emmitt Heard and Mrs. Ada Lue King Heard, was born April 13, 1939 in Newton County. At an early age he was baptized in Jesus name at the Historical Springfield Baptist Church in Covington, Georgia.

*He was united in holy matrimony to Ms. Essie Kate Freeman on February 1, 1958. To this union they were blessed with four children. He worked for many years for Lithonia Lighting in Conyers, Georgia and Davidson Granite Company in Atlanta, Georgia until he became disabled to work.

*He quietly departed this life on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Dekalb Medical LTAC Hospital in Decatur, Georgia. He is preceded in death by two sisters, Ms. Louise Jenkins and Ms. Minnie Burnett, one brother, Mr. Clifford Heard, all of Conyers, Georgia.

*His beautiful life will forever be cherished by his wife, Mrs. Essie Kate Heard, one son, Mr. Terry Heard, Covington, Georgia, three daughters, Mr. & Mrs. Randall (Jennifer) Eskin, Conyers, Georgia, Mr. & Mrs. Henry (Chandra) Walters, McDonough, Georgia, Mr. & Mrs. Aaron (Tamara) Coleman, Sunrise, Florida, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three sisters, Mr. & Mrs. Frank (Runell) Brown, Conyers, Georgia, Mrs. A. H. Arnold, Ellenwood, Georgia, Ms. Linda Pitts, Conyers, Georgia, one brother, Mr. & Mrs. L. C. (Zelda) Heard, Conyers, Georgia, one sister-in-law, Ms. Jennie Mae Victor, Covington, Georgia, a devoted friend, Mr. Sylvester Pitts and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
