Mr. Douglas J. “Jackie” Dial, 68, of Oxford passed away July 14, 2012 at Newton Medical Center.  He was born January 24, 1944 in Covington to the late Frances Jackson and Mary Lou Townley Dial.  Mr. Dial was a true craftsman in every sense of the word, he enjoyed woodwork, metal craft, gardening and painting were just some of his passions along with his love of animals and fishing.  He was a mechanic by trade and retired from ADF after 16 years of service.

 

Mr. Dial is survived by his wife Lynn Dial, his daughter and son-in-law Janet and Alan Jeanes of Auburn, GA, his son and daughter-in-law Duane and Linda Dial of Covington his siblings and their spouses; Dianne and Burton Brown Sr. of Gainesville, Wayne and Debbie Dial and Steve and Brenda Dial all of Oxford.  He is also survived by his grandchildren Taylor and Justin Dial along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family and close friends.

 

A memorial service for Mr. Dial will be held at 7:00PM Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00PM until 7:00PM prior to the service on Tuesday.  J.C.
