Obituary
Mr. Charles Tyrone Gaither, 63, a child of God was called peacefully to eternal life, Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at his residence.
Charles, affectionately known as "POP", was born September 14, in Covington, Georgia, to Mrs. Virginia A. Gaither and the late Mr. Willie O. Gaither. He received Christ at an early age, and was reared in Murray C.M.E. Church in Covington, Georgia. He graduated from Newton County High School, and was employed with Gibbs Construction as a craftsman/skilled laborer for many years, where he worked until his health declined.
Charles enjoyed hobbies of: mechanical work and motorcycling. He was an Ephesians husband to his wife of many years, whom he affectionately called "San". To this union is a son, Charles' best friend and confidante, Brian Gaither. He enjoyed quality time with family and friends.
There comes a time in every Christian life when this perishable put on the incorruptibility, and the mortal body puts on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that this is written: " Death is swallowed up in victory." He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Willie O. Gaither, paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Willie Lee (Bertha) Gaither, and maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Jim (Zelma) Belcher; one aunt, Mrs. Beulah Gaither-Smith; and one brother, Mr. Kenneth Gaither.
Charles is survived and fond memories will be shared by: a supportive and dutiful wife, "San" Sandra Gaither; a caring and nurturing mother, Mrs. Virginia Gaither; one son, Bryant (Michele) Gaither, Covington, Georgia; one sister, Brenda (Leroy) Nolley, Conyers, Georgia; two brothers, Virgil Gaither, Covington, Georgia and Curtis Gaither, Ellenwood, Georgia; one aunt, Ray (Geraldine) Moore, Covington, Georgia; two uncles, Johnny (Dean) Gaither, Conyers, Georgia and Chester (Loretta) Gaither, Monticello, Georgia; a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Charles is eternally grateful to his wife, Sandra and daughter-in-law, Michele, who provided him with humility and compassionate in-home hospice care to preserve his personal dignity until God called his spirit to eternal life.
