Mr. Charles Pickett, age 69, of Covington, passed away April 18, 2012. He was born January 3, 1943 at the Porterdale Hospital to the late James and Gertrude Gunnels Pickett. Mr. Pickett was a great baseball player and played baseball all over Newton County, he also enjoyed a "Friendly Game of Cards". He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend.
Mr. Pickett is survived by his wife, Tammy Pickett and children; David Pickett, Stacey and Belinda Pickett, Tracie and Matthew Wilkins, Colt Pickett, Chance Pickett and Christy and Ron Doran all of Covington. He is also survived by his grandchildren Stuart Pickett, Spencer Pickett and Breanna Pickett along with his great grandchildren Tylen and Bentley Pierce and his brother Larry Pickett of Jackson.
A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon, Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Porterdale Ball Field with Brother Timothy Payne officiating. The family will receive friends at the Porterdale Ball Field from 11:00AM until 12 Noon prior to the service. Those desiring may make a contribution to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers. J.C.
