Obituary
Mother Sebie Elizabeth McKnight was born August 30, 1933, in Covington, Georgia. She was the second child and first daughter to the late Mr. John Edward (Annie Lucille Hollingsworth) Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Carlton McKnight Jr., six brothers; Mr. James Edward Brown, Mr. Calvin Lewis Brown, Mr. Milton Eugene Brown, Mr. Edwin Leon Brown, Mr. Eddie Lee Brown and Mr. Samuel Leroy Brown, one sister, Mrs. Evelyn Brown Ransom.
She accepted Christ as her savior at an early age at Livingston Chapel including the Steward Board, President of the Steward Board, Church Treasure, Choir Member and Missionary.
Sebie graduated from Washington Street High School in 1953. She worked at Morgan Laundry and retired from Mead Container Board and the Newton County School System. Throughout her life she enjoyed spending time with the social club the Star Lighters and dancing and singing with her family and friends.
Sebie's precious memories are survived, loved and cherished by two sons, Mr. & Mrs. Louie (Mildred Smith) Martin, Covington, Georgia, Mr. & Mrs. Carlos (Justine) McKnight, Sandy Springs, Georgia, three daughters; Mr. & Mrs. Barron (Pamela) Benton, Conyers, Georgia, Mr. & Mrs. Lyndon (Tanya) Thomas and Ms. Carlene McKnight, both of Covington, Georgia, two sisters, Mrs. Patricia Ann Brown Reed, Oxford, Georgia and Mr. & Mrs. George (Imogene) Pruitt, Johnson City, Tennessee, one brother, Mr. Larry O'Neal Brown, Lithonia, Georgia, seven sisters-in-law, ten grandchildren; DeMario, Janae, DeMarcus, Kaneithia, Darnel, Kalissia, Travis, Chelsea, Nicolas and Breyonna, twelve great grandchildren, she was cherished and loved by a devoted friend, Mr. Charles Cloud and a host of treasured nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
