Obituary
Mother Mary Joyce Gaither loved the Lord, life, family and her church. She was caring, thoughtful, hardworking, compassionate, loving and so much more. She was well-known by friends and neighbors and she passionately shared her wisdom of life with those she came in contact with.
Mary Joyce was a woman of independence and intelligence, she took pride in handling her business affairs and served in her community on The City Of Covington Planning and Zoning Board and was a bus monitor for the Newton County School System. Mary Joyce was a picture of iron-willed strength, no matter how challenging she was able to overcome many obstacles in her life. She remained steadfast in her christian beliefs showing us how the Lord helped shape her life.
Mary Joyce was a woman of class and grace....and she could dress! Mary Joyce cherished her home and when she was able, she loved to cook in her kitchen occasionally making Sunday dinners for the family.

On March 9, 1949, she married her high school sweetheart, Mr. Rochelle Gaither, Jr., who preceded her in death, also one grandson, Mr. Rico Horton and one brother, Mr. L.C.
