Mrs. Melba Ruth Evans Harcrow, 79, of Covington died Jan. 4 at Heritage of Brookstone in Kennesaw. Mrs. Harcrow was born to the late J.C. and Edna Brown Evans and was a lifelong resident of Covington. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the church choir. She was predeceased by her husband, Mr. Hugh Lee Harcrow in 1998, and is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Phil Mooney of Kennasaw; her sisters, Jerry Pruett of Conyers and Joyce Wortham of Douglasville; brothers, Terry Evans of Madison and Tim Evans of Sterling, Alaska; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and other family friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Harcrow will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7 from the chapel of Harwell-Wheeler Funeral Home with the Rev. Alan Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 4228 Mill Street, Covington, Ga. 30014. Harwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
