ELLIS Mary Lou Ellis of Covington, GA died Wednesday March 24, 2010. She was born on June 20, 1924 in Covington, Ga to the late Ernest Eugene and Rosie Belle Thompson Johnson. She was retired from Bibb Manufacturing Co. and sold Avon for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to everyone. Mrs. Ellis is survived by daughter and son-in-law Jackie and Buck Knight of Covington, Ga., Joan and the late Sonny Treadwell of Covington, Ga.; daughter Gail Still of Covington; sons Walker Ellis of Covington, Dennis Ellis of Covington; granddaughters Debra Terrell, Kathy Delancey, Donna Smith, Lesa Womack; grandsons Greg Knight, Scott Treadwell, Mark Treadwell, Tommy Still, Mac Ellis;18 great granchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; sisters Sue Bartlett of Oxford, Ga., and Mildred Hawk of Covington, Ga.; several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by father Ernest Eugene Johnson, mother Rosie Belle Thompson Johnson, husband William Howell Ellis, son Richard Ellis, brother Ernest L. (Son) Johnson.Services will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday March 27, 2010 in the Chapel of Harwell-Wheeler Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Walden officiating. Interment will be at New Covington Cemetery.
