Mary Jo Hallford, 71, of Oxford, went to be with her Lord April 9, 2011, at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle, from complications from lung cancer. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Austin Madison and Rena Kate (Mason) Alexander. Mary Jo was a member of The Baptist Tabernacle. After retiring from Sweetheart Plastics, she enjoyed gardening, traveling, scrapbooking, playing cards, and family get-togethers. She will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and a friend to many. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Amos Carl Hallford, the son of the late George and Arlie Hallford; sons, Ricky Hallford and Danny Callahan, Raymond Hallford, Randy and Tonya Hallford; daughters, Cheryl and Lamar Knight, Michele and Albert Morvik; 9 grandchildren, Tera and Carl Mesta, Adam Womack, Hannah Parker, Sarah Parker, Lenton Parker, Alex Morvik, Madison Morvik, Andrew Hallford, Caroline Hallford; 3 great-grandchildren, Keith Womack, Josie Mesta, Justin Mesta; brother, Austin Madison Alexander, Jr.; sisters, Betty Yearwood and Linda Gunn; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services for Mary Jo will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at The Baptist Tabernacle, 10119 Access Road, Covington, Georgia, 30014, with Dr. David C. Moody and P. J. Alexander officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park, Covington.
