Mrs. Mary Bessie Irby Bishop, 80, of Rockbridge Road, entered into rest January 31 at her residence. Mrs. Bishop was a born in Glascock County. She was the daughter of the late Lowie Irby and the late Susie Bales Irby. Mrs. Bishop was the retired owner and operator of Bishop Insurance Agency. She was the beloved wife of the late Eddie Bishop.

Survivors include her son Bobby Carter of Conyers; brothers and sisters J.T. Irby of Thomson, Mattie Irby Black of Gibson, Johnny Irby of Conyers, and Lucille Irby Edmonds of Bradenton, Fla.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Feb. 3, at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James M. Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery in Glascock County. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
