Mary Hazel Goodman of Covington, GA died Tuesday April 5, 2011 at her residence under the care of Abbey Hospice.  She was born on November 8, 1933 in Monroe, GA to the late Clinton T. and Bertha Mae Benton Durden. She was a life long resident of Covington and was a member of The Baptist Tabernacle.

Mrs. Goodman is survived by husband Horace Goodman of Covington, GA; son and daughter-in-law Terry and Judy Goodman of Conyers, GA; daughter and son-in-law Diane and Rev. Jim Kirk of Aiken, SC; granddaughter Brittany Kirk; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother Harold Thomas Durden.

Services will be held at  2:00 PM on Friday April 8, 2011 in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with  Dr. David Moody and Dr. R. Hudson Moody officiating.  Interment will be in Covington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00PM.
